Max WarburtonSenior Advisor
Max Warburton is a Senior Advisor, advising Kimmeridge on alternative energy and carbon solutions investments. He also acts as Advisor to Rimac Group, a European Electric Vehicle, Technology and Battery Storage business that counts Porsche and Hyundai amongst its investors, and is an Advisor to Wayve, a London based technology company that is a pioneer in Embodied AI for autonomous driving. Wayve is the first company to develop and test an end-to-end deep learning autonomous driving system on public roads, and counts Nvidia, Microsoft and SoftBank amongst its investors.
Max previously served as Advisor to the Management Board and Head of Special Projects at Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG between 2020 and 2024. In this role, he oversaw corporate strategy and worked on multiple industrial and commercial initiatives across Trucks, Vans and Mercedes-Benz Cars. He also drove key electrification projects including the creation of the Mercedes-Benz global high-power charging network, the investment in battery producer ACC, the acquisition of YASA Motors and the development of EQXX, the world’s longest range electric car.
Prior to joining Daimler AG, Mr. Warburton spent more than a dozen years as Head of Automotive Research at Bernstein Research, located in both London and Asia, and served as Partner at parent company Alliance Bernstein. Before Bernstein, Mr. Warburton was Head of Global Automotive Research at UBS (2005-2008) and covered European Autos at Goldman Sachs (2000-2005). He was ranked by investors as the No.1 Automotive sector analyst for 14 years in the annual Institutional Investor survey.
