Matthew McChesneyVP, Subsurface Strategy

Matthew McChesney is a Vice President of CCS Subsurface at Kimmeridge, where he supports decarbonization initiatives by leading subsurface interpretation, monitoring strategy, and technical diligence across the firm’s carbon capture and storage portfolio.
Matt brings more than 20 years of experience across geophysics, subsurface development, and energy transition technologies, spanning international service work, large-scale U.S. unconventional operations, applied research, and investment environments. Prior to joining Kimmeridge, he served as Principal Technologist for Battelle Carbon Services and previously held senior technical and leadership roles at Guidon Energy and Pioneer Natural Resources.

Mr. McChesney holds a B.S in Mathematics and B.S in Physics from the University of Mississippi and a M.S. in Geological and Earth Sciences from The University of Texas at Dallas.
