Henry MakansiManaging Partner
Henry Makansi is a Managing Partner at Kimmeridge, where he focuses on investments across the energy and energy transition sectors. Mr. Makansi spent a decade as a principal investor at Warburg Pincus, where he served as Head of the European Energy Practice and led investments across exploration and production, oilfield services, and alternative energy. Earlier in his career he worked in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets at Lehman Brothers and later at GP Bullhound.
Mr. Makansi currently serves on the boards of Chestnut Carbon, a developer of nature based carbon removal projects, 38 Degrees North, a distributed generation and community solar platform, SYSO, a battery storage asset management platform, and LandGate, a land intelligence and data platform. He is also a member of the Council of the University of Chicago Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures. Mr. Makansi holds a Master’s degree in Economic Theory and Mathematical Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and completed accredited Master’s level coursework in game theory, macroeconomics, and international economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
