Kimmeridge Bolsters Public Equities Platform with Appointment of John Ordway as Portfolio Manager

New York, NY – July 15, 2026 – Kimmeridge, an alternative asset manager focused on the energy sector, today announced the appointment of John Ordway as a Portfolio Manager within the firm’s public investment platform. Kimmeridge has been a force of constructive change in the public E&P sector, generating differentiated returns for all stakeholders. Mr. Ordway will help expand the platform as the firm scales its differentiated approach to long-term value creation across the full energy spectrum, including services, refining and midstream.

Mr. Ordway brings more than 20 years of investment experience across the energy sector, including extensive work in public markets and select private investments. His expertise spans industry and company research, commodity analysis, and constructive dialogue with management teams and industry participants. Most recently, he served as a Portfolio Manager at AllianceBernstein, focused on public energy investments across the energy value chain. Earlier in his career, he was a senior member of the investment team at Carlson Capital, where he focused on public energy equity investments and select private opportunities. Prior to that, he was a Principal at CSL Capital, where he was involved in the formation and development of a resin-coated sand business serving the Haynesville Shale.

Kimmeridge has been a leader in driving change across public energy companies through the “Kimmeridge Energy Engagement Partners” or “KEEP” strategy. The KEEP strategy is focused on constructive engagement with boards and management teams and, when necessary, targeted public campaigns to advance business model transformation and promote capital discipline, governance and environmental stewardship. The platform has engaged more than a dozen publicly listed companies, representing nearly 10% of U.S. oil and gas production, helping to reposition the sector as a compelling destination for long-term capital.

Ben Dell, Kimmeridge Co-Founder and Managing Partner, said: “Kimmeridge, and in particular, KEEP, was built on the conviction that long-term ownership and engagement, grounded in proprietary research and sector expertise, will strengthen companies and deliver superior outcomes for all stakeholders. The continued growth of the Kimmeridge public markets team reflects the durability of our investment model and the results we have generated.”

Mark Viviano, Managing Partner and lead Portfolio Manager on the public investment team, said: “The success of KEEP has been driven by our team’s ability to identify underperforming companies and constructively engage on pathways to maximize shareholder value. John’s deep investing experience in the public energy sector enables him to recognize unique opportunities, as we expand our capabilities outside of North American E&P.”

“I’m excited to join Kimmeridge during this transformative moment across the energy landscape,” said Ordway. “Having spent my career focused on the energy sector, I look forward to leveraging my experience and relationships to support Kimmeridge’s differentiated platform, which combines deep technical expertise with flexible, long-duration capital to help companies achieve stronger outcomes while advancing a healthier, more resilient energy industry.”
